Spring is finally here, and we are ready to celebrate with some of the smallest creatures in our communtity. This week is all about bugs, so we’ll tie-dye, paint and make lightning bugs, and work on science and math skills with insect manipulatives.
Last week, Fort Collins was a little bit louder. It was music week at OSLP, and we had a great time playing instruments, learning rhythms and going to Boomers Music. This week, we’ll dive under the sea to study the oceans. Look out fish, here we come!
This week we’ve been exploring nursery rhymes and learning science along the way. The kids were very unsure of Ms. Bev’s ability to swing a bucket of water upside down and thought for sure she’d spill it a la Jack and Jill. She did fine- the kids did not. We had some wet, but laughing children! Today it was Humpty Dumpty and some egg

It’s NUMBERS week at OSLP! We’ve worked on counting, number recognition and sequencing, and searched for mystery numbers. Also this week we have reviewed all the letters we’ve learned so far this year. It was fun today to see the kids jumping around the room spelling their names out on floor tiles. Fun!
This week is all about pets here at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Preschool! We’ll be using our theme to work on memory skills, learn about the letter P, and many more fun activities. For our Pre-K class, we’ll finish the week with a field trip to a pet store to learn about pets the kids may not have. Snakes, anyone?
Tomorrow is our annual craft fair and bake sale! This is a great opportunity to pick up some Christmas gifts and enjoy our famous kraut burgers (and maybe a cookie or two). This event is extremely important to our school as it helps us keep our tuition rates lower. We look forward to seeing everyone there! December 1, 2012 9am – 3pm Our Saviour’s

Photo by Kam’s World on Flickr It’s time for our first field trip of the school year and we couldn’t be more excited! The trip to the pumpkin patch here in Fort Collins is a great adventure and the perfect way to welcome fall. We’ll get to visit some farm animals, take a hay ride, and pick out a pumpkin to take home.
Parent / Teacher conferences are in the near future. This is a great time for us to visit and discuss how your child is progressing. We will not be closing school for conferences this year. Instead, we will have a few spots in the morning and the remainder will be held in the afternoon.
Highlights What a month September has been! The children toured the school and made binoculars to help us see all the really cool things about our school. We spent time identifying the first letter of our names or just on knowing what our name looks like. We also made new friends and explored who lives in our families. For art, we traced the children’s
